- Baxter Memorial Library in Gorham
- Scarborough Public Library in Scarborough
- Thomas Memorial Library in Cape Elizabeth
- Walker Memorial Library in Westbrook
Each of these libraries is a member of the Minerva consortium and, while you have long enjoyed the ability to borrow items from their collections through our interlibrary loan service, you now have the ability to use your SPPL card directly at these area libraries, just as you would at our library! So, when you see an item in the online catalog and our copy is out, but one of our neighboring libraries has it, feel free to pay them a visit and check it out!
Here’s how it works:
Through a cooperative agreement, these four libraries, along with the South Portland Public Library, have agreed to honor one another’s library cards. Simply present your SPPL card at any of our partner libraries, and access their collections just as you do ours!
Please note: You will need to present your SPPL card in order to use this service.
In order to keep our operational costs down, and to speed up availability of materials for all users, items should always be returned to the library they are borrowed from.
Late fees will be charged based on your home library’s policy.
The shared borrowing agreement only applies to available, in-house materials. Interlibrary loan requests and holds must be placed at your home library or online.
