Introduction to Zentangle
Looking for a new creative outlet? Check out our 4-session Introduction to Zentangle™ program starting on Wednesday, October 16th at 10:30am!
Zentangle™ is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns, called ‘tangles’, and are created by drawing combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, S-curves and orbs. These basic shapes are the “Elemental Strokes” in all Zentangle™ art, and in no time you will be creating amazing images you never thought possible. Guaranteed!
In this 4-session program taught by Certified Zentangle™ Teacher Cathi Belcher, you will learn the basics of Zentangle™ drawing; four new and different patterns in each class; and the shading techniques that will make your images pop right off the page! In our final class, which is right before the holidays, you will take what you’ve learned and Zentangle™ directly on cards or ornaments, which you can use as gifts for friends and family, or decorations for your home. No prior skills are needed, and all materials are supplied.
Participants should plan to attend all 4 classes. CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED AND PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Register in person at the Main library or by calling 767-7660 x 2
Cathi Belcher is an artist, writer, and Certified Zentangle™ Teacher from Topsham Maine. She also works in the Library and Theater departments at Bowdoin College, and leads social justice programs in the area.
