Mad Science

August 10, 2019 – 10:30 am

Explore space on an out-of-this-world galactic expedition with Mad Science! The “3-2-1-Blast Off!” show will mark the end of the 2019 Summer Reading Program, which has been a stellar success! Join us at the Main Library on Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate your summer-long reading success with laughter and learning!

From Earth’s atmosphere to the outer reaches of our solar system, this stellar space show will send young readers to the Moon!  Launch into the excitement of Earth, Mars, the moon and beyond as we scale the solar system in a life size interactive demonstration.  Examine life in space as we challenge interplanetary voyagers in Mission: Spacewalk!  Help analyze the atmosphere and zero gravity with an awesome bell jar experiment.  Continue the journey with a combustion reaction that reinforces the nightly marvel known as a shooting star.  And, if that is not enough, prepare for liftoff with a miniature rocket launch!  Leave your learners astronomically awe-struck with 3, 2, 1…Blast Off!

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the South Portland Public Library. For more information, call Youth Services at 767-7660 x 3.
