The Casco Bay Tummlers will be performing on Saturday, June 8 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Main Library. This outstanding klezmer band has over 25 years of experience as Maine’s primary purveyors of Eastern European Jewish party music, improvisational Balkan tunes, and Yiddish folk songs. Elements of swing, gypsy music, haunting Holocaust melodies, and prize winning original compositions will be on the program.
The Tummlers have performed at international festivals in Europe, recorded original music for film, and have released three CDs.Band members are: Carl Dimow on flutes and guitar; Nancy 3. Hoffman on accordion and vocals; Steve Gruverman on clarinets and saxophone; Kinnon Church on bass; and Peter McLaughlin on percussion.
