Beloved South Portland-based children’s musician, Amanda Panda, has released her first album, “Play for Life,” and we want to celebrate! Join Amanda for a special CD release party at the Main Library on Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. Enjoy live music performed by Amanda, Rob Duquette, and the kids from the CD! This is a free, all-ages show.
Amanda’s music and movement revolve around themes of nature, friendship, and silliness, and promote healthy, peaceful living. Most of her songs were created at home with her children Dylan and Garcia. Her performances are always all ages and fully participatory. Animal noises and running wild are as important as sitting calmly and breathing, and families can expect the full range and balance with Amanda Panda running the show!
Amanda “Panda” Parkhurst is a creative musician who wears many hats! She has been training in all areas of creative expression since childhood, and loves to share her skills with others. In addition to being a well-loved performer, she is also the Early Childhood Music Education Director of Little Roots at 317 Main Community Music Center, and the creatress of Music and Magic Maine, which has been providing musical instruments and creative opportunities to children in Maine since 2009.
