Chewonki's Bugmobile

January 27, 2018 – 10:30 am

Is a bug an insect? Is a spider a bug? Join us as we find the answers to these questions and many more with Chewonki  on Saturday, January 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Library.

Chewonki’s “Bugmobile” transports the world of arthropods–insects and their relatives–into the library. Using models, costumes, and live specimens, they will explain the unique characteristics of four major groups of arthropods. Live “bug” species will introduce you to some of the fascinating adaptations essential for survival, such as mimicry, camouflage, armor, and the use of venom!

Chewonki is an environmental education organization based in Wiscasset, Maine, that inspires transformative growth, teaches appreciation and stewardship of the natural world, and challenges people to build thriving, sustainable communities throughout their lives.
