A note to our community from Miss Kim, Children’s Librarian…

October 22, 2020

Dear Wonderful Community,

I’m going to be starting a new adventure in my life.  I will be leaving my position at the South Portland Public Library at the end of this year.  As I am very excited, I am also sad.  Sad because I’m leaving a job that I have adored for many years.  Even more sad because I won’t be seeing you all like I have been for so long.  I have enjoyed sharing books with you, laughing with you, and watching so many of you kids and teens grow and become more of yourselves.  From story times to festivals to book recommendations and beyond, my heart is full of gratitude!  I feel so blessed to have had this experience at SPPL and I look forward to what’s to come!

Although I will be starting a new chapter (couldn’t resist as a librarian!), I am still here for the next couple of months.  During this time, I will continue to help you find just the right book or movie to enjoy, perhaps share a virtual school visit, or have a little chat.  Miss Jess and Heather are also here to keep our Youth Services department thriving and continuing to connect you with great books and movies and fun, creative programming!  I’m excited for whoever will become part of the future Youth Services team and know they will be greeted with much warmth and support!

Keep being your amazing selves and know that you have made my life SO much richer!

Happy Reading!  Happy Creating!  Happy Being!

Much Love,

Miss Kim
