Learn about henna tattoos at this special program for ages 10-18! We will share information about the history of henna, and then participants will be able to apply their own tattoos using drawing or stencil techniques.
The henna workshop will take place at the Main Library on Thursday, June 29, at 2:00 p.m. Please register in advance by calling 767-7660 x 3, or by visiting the Children’s Room.
Please note: Henna tattoos are temporary and usually last from 1-2 weeks. They are made by applying a paste made from powder from the henna plant onto the skin. Despite being all natural, some people with sensitive skin occasionally have irritation from henna tattoos. If needed, they can be faded or removed by applying mineral oil or olive oil.
This event is part of the library’s Teen Summer Reading Program, and is sponsored by the Friends of the South Portland Public Library.
