Fairy House Workshop

fairy garden handbook do fairies bring the spring fairy house handbookLiza Gardner Walsh, author of a number of books including Fairy House Handbook and Fairy Houses All Year, will be visiting the Main Library on Saturday, June 10 at 10:30 a.m. for a fairy house workshop!

Reading excerpts from the Fairy House Handbook, Liza will share what exactly is a fairy house, the rules of the forest, and tips on attracting fairies. Also, Liza will introduce her brand new book, Fairy House Cooking and talk about what kinds of things kids can cook up to entice the fairies. This interactive program builds on children’s innate knowledge of fairies, nature and the fairy house world. Kids will create a fairy house village at the library as well as some ideas for potions and recipes to attract the fairies.

Liza’s series of books, hand-made products and special programs encourage children and families to connect with each other, the natural world, and make lasting memories of magical time in childhood. We are so excited for her to share this special program with us!

Please note that this workshop is recommended for ages 4+. For more information, call Youth Services at 767-7660 x 3. Liza’s visit is sponsored by the Friends of the South Portland Public Library.
